Saturday Morning Laundry
Blessed to see another morning, Leasa’s weekend had arrived. The day was going to be full of guilty pleasures. Yesterday was Pay Day and plans were in place.
“There’s just a few things I need to do.”
“Ah yes! Fresh sheets.”
The aroma of fresh linen from the back yard began to fill the air. She allowed the sun rays to expose her melanin curves as she made up her mind about where to start. Even though she wanted to abort mission, she knew it needed to be done.
In the midst of contemplating, she took in the scenery hoping it would inspire her to keep going.
“I got half of it done…not bad. It’s hot as hell though.”
Leasa grew curious of her basket, full of vibrant ideas she’d thrown together for her website. She reached for a top that caught her eye.
“Mm hmm, I could use this.”
She slipped into something more comfortable, glistening in confidence. Crowned as royal, the ancestors nod in approval.
Rewards come in several forms. Some seem small but on a larger scale, it’s a humble reminder of the little things. A butterfly landing on your nose, a newly opened box of crayons… the fresh smell of laundry.
Do you ever notice how you never feel good about doing laundry till it’s all folded and put away? It’s those baby steps that take us further.
Be vigilant and disciplined, then PROCEED. Your purpose soon reveals itself.
Be strong. Be bold. Be you.
